Basement Water Diversion & Drainage Systems

Protect Your Basement from Leaks, Seepage, and Water Damage

If water is entering your basement—whether it’s a small leak, wall seepage, or pooling during heavy rain—it’s more than just an inconvenience. Moisture in the basement leads to mold, odors, foundation damage, and ruined living space. At Diversified Drainage, we design basement water diversion systems that capture intruding water and route it safely out of your home. From interior drainage to sump pump installation and foundation sealing, we’ll help you reclaim your basement and protect your property.

About the Service: What Is Basement Water Diversion?

Basement water diversion is the process of capturing and redirecting water that enters or threatens to enter your basement—moving it away from your foundation and out of your home safely.

We install:
  • Interior Perimeter Drain Systems
Installed along the inside of foundation walls, these channels collect water and guide it to a sump pit before it can spread across the floor.
  • Sump Pump Installation & Upgrades
Sump systems automatically discharge water collected from drain tile or seepage zones—keeping your basement dry, even in heavy rain.
  • Wall Seepage Capture Channels
Low-profile channels and membranes that direct water from foundation walls down into perimeter drainage systems.
  • Basement Floor Drainage Integration
Tie water diversion systems into floor drains or sump basins for seamless water management.
  • Discharge Routing & Exterior Tie-ins
Move pumped water away from your foundation with proper slope, piping, or dry well installation.

Why Basement Water Diversion Matters

Prevent Mold & Mildew - Water intrusion promotes unhealthy air and musty smells—especially in finished or livable basements.
Protect Finished Spaces - Avoid carpet, drywall, and flooring damage by capturing water before it spreads.
Stop Water at the Point of Entry - Interior systems intercept leaks where they appear and route water safely out of the home.
Lower Humidity & Improve Comfort - Dry basements mean less dehumidifier use, better air quality, and more usable square footage.
Long-Term Foundation Protection - Reduce hydrostatic pressure on basement walls and slabs that can cause cracking or shifting.

Residential Drainage FAQs

Proper residential drainage starts with the right system—and a clear understanding of how it works. Explore these FAQs to learn more about drainage.

What’s the difference between water diversion and waterproofing?

Water diversion redirects water after it enters or tries to enter—waterproofing tries to seal it out entirely. We often use both together.

Do I need a sump pump if I install interior drainage?

Usually, yes. Interior drainage systems are most effective when paired with a sump pump to move the collected water out.

Will this fix all my basement water problems?

In many cases, yes—but we also evaluate your exterior drainage (grading, gutters, drain tile) to make sure the problem is solved holistically.

What if I already have a sump pump but still get water?

We’ll inspect the system, test the flow, and identify whether the problem is with collection (drain tile), pumping capacity, or discharge routing.
